The Marshall County Convention & Visitors Bureau is like many around the country. Limited resources only allows so much in paid marketing and advertising. They needed a brand direction that resonated with potential visitors while creating more community involvement.
The community was looking for a leader and something to rally behind. After conducting the stakeholder and guests research, we found Marshall County’s #1 asset for tourism and economic development was the grand Kentucky Lake, America’s largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River. Only political agendas were keeping the county from embracing it fully as they should in marketing. And since no other county occupied more shorelines of the lake than Marshal County, we decided to claim it. The answer was as obvious as the lake in front of our face.
Embrace, connect and elevate Kentucky Lake – the South’s Great Lake
Celebrating the magnificent Kentucky Lake as a place where classic American family values could be shared was something the entire county could get behind. The Convention & Visitors Bureau, Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce all changed their official names. A huge step in geopolitical unity.
